Ship carrying scrap metal prevented from sinking due to rift

The cargo ship ?Marina?, docked at the Port of Heraklion on the island of
Crete, was prevented from sinking on Tuesday after a 70cmx30cm rift was caused
to its engine room walls leading to massive water inflow. The ship was carrying
scrap metal and the rift was most likely caused when its hull grazed a sunken
metal crane, due to the weight of its cargo.
